Decided on dinner!

04 May

The economy is crazy lately and prices seem high on just about everything including food. We can’t always afford gourmet but it is possible to eat healthy on a budget.

Thinking about what to make I decided to make what I call “wing wannabes” chicken legs cooked with your choice of sauce with rice and veggies! Yummmmmm!

I prefer using HPs Garlic Rib Sauce or Chicken & rib BBQ sauce is always a kids favorite to avoid spices.

Preheat the oven to about 375•C depending on your stove and how it cooks chicken! I know I had a stove a few years ago that liked cooking the outside and not inside!!

While the oven is heating up prep your chicken by placing them into a deep stove pan (to avoid spills!) and pour/spread your sauce evenly onto the chicken legs. You don’t need a whole bottle just enough to suite your taste.
Unless you have lots of time frozen veggies are a healthy alternative to fresh cut and can be prepared in minutes. You could do rice the old way but uncle bens 5 minute white or sidekicks rice will do fine.
The chicken should take 25-30 mins. For flavorful chicken put more sauce half way and when it’s just about done. My husband says they taste like wings. Enjoy!
