My Living Stories iPhone app review and giveaway

23 Jul

As an iPhone owner and mom, I always love finding and trying out new apps for my kids. Yes, I let my daughter play with my iPhone when we are out or even at home when its quiet time. She has been since I had owned my iPod touch over two years ago! My daughter enjoys all kinds of apps some of her favourites are “Angelina Ballerina” – a dress up/matching game, “Where’s Waldo” – just like the old Waldo books and various storybook apps. We were recently introduced to My Living Stories, interactive stories for kids and we were impressed!

The My Living Stories apps combine beautiful artwork, narration and interactive features in an easy to use platform that is perfect for preschoolers to read along all on their own, without any help. My Living Stories are a great solution for entertaining on-the-go or as an aid for teaching children to read at home. The apps allow for your child to read along with English or French narration or read the stories themselves. Interactive sounds and animation bring stories to life. Another great feature is the ability to record your own voice to go along with the story (this feature requires an iPhone or iPod Touch with microphone capabilities). My Living Story classic stories include Princess & the Pea, King Midas, The Tortoise & the Hare, Little Red Riding Hood and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.

Thanks to MomCentral and My Living Stories we were able to try out three of the five stories available to download. Our little girl chose “Little Red RidingHood“, “Goldilocks & The Three Bears“, and “The Tortoise & The Hare“. She has been enjoying them since the minute I introduced her to them.  When I asked her which one was her favourite she said she enjoys them all however, “Goldilocks & The Three Bears” is her favourite story of all time.  I like that the stories are easy to use, narrated by a little girl and each story has a lesson at the end. We will definitely be looking for more interactive stories from My Living Stories in the future!

It’s possibly the simplest app out there but I love the bubble wrap popping app. Is there anything as satisfying as popping those bubbles??

My oldest loves playingon my iPod so I know she would love all the Living Stories. I’ll go with Goldilocks since she is already familiar with the story

We love baby flash cards! We use them all the time, as well as the white noise app. I can’t wait until she is old enough to have this great form of entertainment!
